This was by far the higlight of my visit to Ilulissat. We started the day by skidoo to the cabin, then the guides set up the dog sleds and the greenlandic dogs pulled us to the glacier where we enjoyed coffee and tea. We made our way back by dog sledding again to the cabin wherewe enjoyed a homecooked warm meal. Everyone was so welcoming and we could enjoy the view on the glacier. We went back by skidoo and we saw the puppies. The guides wereso knowledgeable and answered my all too many questions. It's a once in a lifetime authentic experience, thank you 🙌

Hvis man virkelig vil opleve at køre hundeslæde er dette den helt perfekte tur. Afhentningen på hotellet til tiden og blev kørt ud til snescooteren. Hvis man ikke selv er tryg ved at køre snescooter kan man sidde som passager. En flot tur ud gennem baglandet af Ilulissat igennem fjeldene. Efter ca. 1 time kommer man ud til lodgen hvor hundende og slæderne gøres klar. Så går tuen over den frosne fjord ud til gletsjeren. En fantastisk og autentisk oplevelse at køre på hundeslæde her. Tilbage i lodgen fik vi en skøn fiskesuppe inden turen gik tilbage til byen. En uforglemmelig dag.

This trip with Ilulissat Escape helped make our first family trip to Ilulissat complete. First we were transported on a snow scooter 25 km out to a cabin, from where the dog trail trip started and drove out over the frozen fjord to the glacier, where we made hold with hot drinks and stories. There was so indescribable beauty and that trip will always be in our memories. Our dog lead Kaali was very competent and it was amazing to see how he and his dogs just sounded together. You felt in safe hands throughout the trip. When we returned to the cabin a great lunch was served before the trip went back to Ilulissat. Next time we come to Ilulissat we also plan on a stay in the cabin which is also possible.

We had the most fantastic trip - first snow scooter out to the prisoner's dog pitch and then dog slide into the glacier. Super cute and skilled guides who provided a wild and unmatched experience that was handled with great respect for both nature and safety. There are hardly enough stars for that experience!

I was on a day trip where we drove on snescooter to a captive area an hour from Ilulissat. Here Kaali made the dog slide ready with his amazing dogs. We then drove for an hour across the fjord in silence, enjoying the silence, the landscape and the sounds of the dogs. When we got to the edge of the ice we drank a cup of coffee and our kusk Kaali was really good at telling about the area, showing where the ice had once gone and why it is called “the dead breeze”. It was really interesting to see Kaali's relationship with the dogs and their mutual respect and joy with each other...not least to compare one's own vuf at home who probably hadn't lasted many days to the work the Greenland slides perform. After that, we went back to the prisoner area where we had a lovely homemade lunch with local products. Satisfied and with good heat in the body, the trip went back to Ilulissat. GREAT RECOMMENDATION- Pilu Magnussen and Kaali are both incredibly helpful, enlightening and insanely skilled for their work. I will take them with me again at any time. Book and enjoy your trip

Lucky with the weather, we made a beautiful snowmobile & dogsled tour to one of the glaciers in the vicinity of Ilulissat. The tour was well organised, planned and timed. We took plenty of time for a delicious seafood lunch inside, overlooking the ice fjord, talking about life in Greenland. Pilu and her husband were very knowledgable and did their best to give me and my fellow passengers a great time!
